- Operating system running Ubuntu 20.04
- A user account with sudo privileges
- Java 8 or 11 sudo apt search OpenJDK
Lets Start the Process of Installation Jenkins
- Login to server Ubuntu-20.04 using ubuntu user
- Then become root user for sudo privilege's by using sudo -i Next Update the server using sudo apt-get update -y
- Now to install open jdk java search for java sudo apt search Openjdk
- Next install java 8 version sudo apt-get install openjdk-8-jdk -y
- Check the java version java -version
Next Add the Jenkins Repository
- curl -fsSL https://pkg.jenkins.io/debian-stable/jenkins.io.key | sudo tee /usr/share/keyrings/jenkins-keyring.asc > /dev/null
- Next, add the Jenkins software repository to the sources list and provide the key for authentication echo deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/jenkins-keyring.asc] https://pkg.jenkins.io/debian-stable binary/ | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/jenkins.list > /dev/null
Install Jenkins
- Next Install the update by sudo apt update
- Next Install jenkins using sudo apt install jenkins -y
- To check Jenkins was installed and is running or not by sudo systemctl status jenkins
- Next Open the port number 8080 for Jenkins allow traffic from any where to access Jenkins from web browser. in AWS under Security Groups in that edit In-bound rules Add the 8080 port allow
Then Like shown Below Copy Paste on browser you can Access The Jenkins from browser
http://Public IP Jenkins installed server:8080 Ex: [172.13.25.1:8080]
To Access the Jenkins Portal while accessing 1st time copy paste file and see the default password
- After That you will acceess the jenkins portal successfully like shown below
